A warm welcome awaits you from Patricia and Phillip Harley and their family

Gaer Farm Holidays offers Bed & Breakfast & Self Catering Giving you a number of different ways to enjoy a break in some of the most spectacular countryside in Mid Wales. With open natural moorland, rolling hills, oak and pine forests and amazing lakeland scenery all nearby, and a number of different options for your accommodation.

  • Gaer Cottage was the original stone dwelling which has been renovated to a high standard offering self catering accommodation with views of the valley from the lounge.
  • The Gaer farmhouse is a lovingly converted, stone and timber barn offering Bed and Breakfast and evening meals in a dining room overlooking the valley.
  • The Bwlch Lodges, three timber lodges, offering self catering accommodation in the heart of Wales with panoramic views of the surrounding hills, in the heart of red kite country. Situated on th Bwlch farm, it is only 5 miles from Llandrindod Wells and Builth Wells, but is concealed within the hillsides to provide a much rarer location.

A view across the farm

The Gaer is a working farm set in a stunning corner of a valley which is home to a wide variety of wildlife including red kites, buzzards and peregrines. Adults and children alike will enjoy our farm walk, and will meet the ducks, pure bred Chickens, pure bred Scottish Blackface and Welsh mountain Sheep, pedigree Longhorn cattle and Dexter cattle and of course the farm dogs. Tim and Nutmeg are sure to be around to say hello.

Gaer or Caer is a Welsh word meaning fort. Gaer farm and Cottage has this celtic name because it is situated at the base of the Gaer, a Roman watchtower over the valley. The view is incredible and it was truly a superb location as any ruler would have been able to watch the entire valley and surrounding area, even today we have a view of un-scarred Welsh landscape, untouched by urban civilisation. The Bwlch, the welsh name for "gap" is situated between two hillsides, indeed in the gap of the hills.

Gaer Farm Meats is our own meat business. All meat products used in the Bed & Breakfast are from our farm.
